01The problem
One day I watched my mom tracking her expenses in a spreadsheet.
02The friction
Rows, columns, formulas. Every expense, by hand. It looked really hard.
03The question
I asked her: “isn’t there an easier way?”
04The idea
An app where all you do is say what you spent, in one sentence.
05The result
HeyCents: your finances, made much simpler.

A personal finance app for iPhone and Android that helps you track your spending and save money. Instead of filling in forms or spreadsheets, you tell it what you spent in one sentence, by talking or typing, and the app logs it with the amount, category and date.
The one you’ll actually use every day. Plenty of people stop tracking because logging every purchase is a chore. HeyCents is built for that: tell it what you spent in one sentence and it sorts it out, so keeping track doesn’t become another task.
First, by showing you where your money goes: every expense gets a category, the app splits fixed, variable and small daily spending, and it spots your subscriptions and recurring payments so you can see where to cut back. Then you create savings goals with a name and an amount, keep your savings and CDs apart from your day-to-day balance, and ask the assistant how you're doing.
Yes. In Profile → Budgets you set how much you want to spend and the app shows how much you’ve used in your cycle. You can also ask the assistant how your budget is going.
The app splits your spending into fixed, variable and small daily expenses: the coffee, the snack, the delivery fee. On Home you see the small ones separately for your cycle, and the assistant tells you where they’re going.
Yes. The Debts tab brings together your loans and what’s pending with other people, apart from your expenses and income. And you can tell the assistant “note that I owe John 80 thousand”.
Yes. Instead of filling in rows and formulas, you say what you spent in one sentence and HeyCents sorts it by category and date. If you still want your data in a spreadsheet, export it to CSV and open it in Excel or Google Sheets.
Tap Log, choose “Talk or type” and tap the mic. Say something like “spent 30k on lunch” and the assistant logs the transaction with its amount, category and date. Voice dictation is part of HeyCents Pro.
Just like voice, but typed: you write what you spent as a message in the assistant chat. If you’d rather not use the assistant, there’s “Fill in manually”, the classic form.
It does things too. Besides logging and answering your questions, it can edit or delete transactions and create debts, goals, budgets and reminders when you ask in one sentence. Whatever it deletes stays 30 days in the trash and everything can be reviewed.
The assistant uses an AI model to pick out the amount, category and date from what you say or type. If you don’t mention a date, it uses today. It can make mistakes, so every transaction can be reviewed and edited.
On your phone, in a local database encrypted with SQLCipher, and in the HeyCents cloud (Firebase, by Google), encrypted at rest. That cloud is what syncs your devices and your shared wallet.
Read the privacy policyNo. The app has no ads and we don’t sell your information to anyone.
The assistant uses Gemini, a Google model. To categorize your transactions and answer your questions, it needs to read what you send it and the related transactions. Its answers are for guidance only, not financial advice.
